How MALAT started?
At the age of 25, Tasbeeha Q. gave life to MALAT, not from a business plan, but from a feeling that refused to stay quiet, while studying in the 4th year of medical college, surrounded by routines, rules, and repetition, she began to notice something missing, the absence of color, softness, and personal expression, medicine taught discipline and purpose, but it left little room for creativity, mood, or individuality, and that contrast stayed with her every day.
The Beginning of a Calling
What started as a simple curiosity slowly turned into a calling. Tasbeeha began imagining clothing that could speak emotions and move the way moods do, reversible, playful, and expressive. The vision was clear, but the journey was far from easy. The biggest challenge came unexpectedly during fabric hunting across Pakistan. Markets were explored, suppliers were contacted, and countless samples were touched and rejected. Pastoral tones were almost impossible to find. Colors felt either too loud or lifeless. Textures lacked soul. Nothing matched the vision that lived in her mind.
The Search and the Struggle
For more than one and a half years, the search continued with patience and frustration walking side by side. Doubts appeared often. Many nights were spent questioning the decision. Still, the vision never faded. Eventually, the breakthrough came. A premium fabric was sourced from a major brand connected to an international house. It felt different the moment it was touched. Rich, breathable, refined, and full of character. It carried the softness and strength that MALAT stands for.
Design as a Language
With the right fabric secured, design became the language. Hoodies were reimagined beyond basics. Sleeves that could change, be flipped, styled, and played with. One side calm and minimal. The other blooming with floral romance, soft contrasts, and subtle storytelling. Each piece was designed to reflect mood swings, strength and softness, structure and freedom, all within a single garment.
Beyond Trends
MALAT was never about fast fashion or chasing trends. It was built on struggle, patience, and honesty. From medical lectures to fabric warehouses, from sketches to samples that failed before they succeeded, every step shaped the brand. MALAT represents the courage to choose expression, to flip paths when something feels incomplete, and to wear emotion without saying a word.
The Story Today
Today, MALAT stands as a reflection of Tasbeeha Q’s journey. Rooted in resilience. Guided by taste. Defined by change. Not trends, just taste.
